Micah Williams is a hardworking and dedicated student who makes sure to stay on top of his work. Micah is a member of the UA League Team and a Junior Coder for JPMorganChase (JPMC). This is facilitated through the Career Readiness and Modern Youth Apprenticeship program. Micah juggles the demands of his internship while simultaneously being in the top 25 academically for this school year. He is able to stay on top of his work by setting goals then breaking them down into smaller tasks in order to make the most of his time. He makes sure to set time aside for his friends and family in order to destress and relax. In his apprenticeship at JPMC, he says learning is the most rewarding part and being paid to learn is truly remarkable. He believes every teenager should be able to work in a hands-on environment with many different mentors.
After high school, Micah sees himself at New York University because it’s at the heart of the city leading to many opportunities. He got a scholarship there and he will still be able to balance both full-time work at JPMC and school later in the day. He said, “it also keeps me close to family and friends as I’m not ready to leave the city just yet.” His biggest goal would be to work for Nintendo one day as a Game Developer or Software Engineer and help contribute to Mario games because he is a large Mario fan.
