As the adrenaline was running, it was hard to believe how quickly the exhilarating season had come to an end. The Graphics Campus Boys Basketball team (also known as the 49’er) gave their all at every practice and game, forging not only their skills but also a camaraderie that felt unbreakable. Standing on the court during the finals, they were ready to take it all. However their opponents were formidable and had proven themselves in that final game. Unfortunately, despite their best effort, they fell short in the finals, bringing dreams of championship to an end.
Throughout the 2024-2025 season, The Graphics Varsity Boys Basketball had an extraordinary season. Despite players suffering many injuries, the team reached a record of (13-1) thirteen wins and one single loss throughout 14 games. When asked for comment, player Jaiden Pagan heralded Coach Tennell’s guidance “He pushed us to do better and practice a lot. He had us working on our game on weekdays, weekends, even during vacation”.
On March 16th, The 49er’s team went head to head in the finals with Achievement First at Long Island University Stadium in Brooklyn. Initially a very neck and neck game, Graphics made some heavy mistakes which lead to a crushing second half dealt by achievement. As Achievement bolstered their defense and offense holding a 10 point deficit for more than 8 minutes. The final score was 48-55, with Achievement taking home the trophy.
While Graphics did not see victory this year, they celebrated an overall successful season. The team will say goodbye to many senior players this year, but look forward to recruiting new talent, and making big wins for the school next season.
